The Dutch regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), issued a fine of €600,000 to a gambling operator licensed in Curacao. €500,000 goes directly to Virtual Coin Gaming NV, the owner of the sites. The rest of the €100,000 fine went to the person behind these sites.
The violation is the fact that the operator attracts Dutch players. In the past, the KSA has repeatedly fined casinos licensed in Curacao. However, this was more of a formality than a real threat, since it was unrealistic to collect these amounts from them. Now, perhaps, the situation has changed after the signing of the treaty on reforms by the government of Curaçao in exchange for financial assistance from the Netherlands.
By March, the first obligations under the contract should be fulfilled. And this means the completion of studies on the need for changes in legislation. As a result, among other obligations, Curacao must ensure that their operators cannot serve players in jurisdictions where they are prohibited.
